(Fort Myers, FL: July 22, 2008) - The Southwest Florida Museum of History is proud to exhibit renowned photographer Clyde Butcher! Clyde Butcher will debut at the museum August 14 - October 31 with a new exhibit, "Visions of Florida - A Clyde Butcher Retrospective." Award-winning black and white fine art photographer Clyde Butcher will display his iconic landscapes in a special exhibition ONLY at the SWFL Museum of History.
The collection will be a combination of 30 – 40 pieces comprised of Giclees and some original silver gelatin photographs that show images mostly of Florida but will also include images from the ‘America the Beautiful’ collection. "Wilderness, to me, is a spiritual necessity,’ notes Butcher on his web site that has made photographing nature, his life’s work. The exhibit will include running DVD's of Butcher’s work and methods and a special display of some of Butcher’s photographic equipment.
The museum store will also feature several kinds of merchandise from Clyde Butcher along with information about Butcher’s annual trip through the Everglades, Muck About Aug. 30-Sept. 1. (http://clydebutcher.com/journal.cfm?holdtype=153)
