Southwest Florida Museum of History Foundation presents:
USO Endowment Gala
Fort Myers, Florida – The Southwest Florida Museum of History Foundation celebrates history and tradition with its 4th annual signature event, a USO Endowment Gala.
On Saturday, January 10th, 2009 beginning at 6:30 pm, guests will be treated to an evening of food, dancing and entertainment in the tradition of 1940s USO shows. Join Edison National Bank and Mimi’s Café, for an “historic” evening hosted by Aeronautical Charter Inc.'s in their beautiful hangar at historic Page Field Airport. Step back in time to the 40s with music styled after the Andrew Sisters and the Big Band era. Swing to the tunes of Lou Colombo and His Orchestra. Colombo has played with some of the greats of his time including Dizzie Gillespie and Tony Bennett!
Costumes are encouraged for this unique evening! Enjoy a special program; military airplanes and memorabilia; silent and LIVE auctions filled with outstanding item and packages; live music and entertainment; and more!
The evening benefits the SWFL Museum of History Foundation Inc. The Foundation supports education programs and exhibits at the SWFL Museum of History, located at 2300 Peck Street in downtown Fort Myers. The Southwest Florida Museum of History has been educating the community about the rich history and culture of Southwest Florida through exhibits and programs for over 26 years. Proceeds from this event will allow the Museum to continue its service to the community.
