There’s so much happening at the Museum that you don’t want to miss!
And as a Museum Members, you won’t have to. We offer expanded exhibits, educational programs, quarterly Author’s Evenings, Escorted Day Trips and seasonal Walking Tours, special events, our annual USO-inspired Gala and, an annual blockbuster traveling exhibit.

The Southwest Florida Museum of History is the area’s only comprehensive Museum chronicling the history of five counties from prehistoric to present day through displays, exhibits, an Audio Tour and in-depth signage.

SWFL Museum of HistoryExperience
The Museum presents a variety of experiences through displays, exhibits, artifacts and an interactive bilingual Audio Tour featuring five oral histories. Guests will meet the first humans and explorers in our area from the Paleo-Indians Calusa, Seminole, to the Spaniards, and share their past and traditions.

From prehistoric creatures like the giant ground sloth and Megalodon, to the first settlers in Fort Myers and the fort, through the shipping and agricultural industries to World War I & II and beyond, guests will discover the rich history and diversity of Southwest Florida that feature a peek inside a pioneer "Cracker" house and a visit aboard a 1929 private Pullman rail car, both next door to the Museum.

Museum members receive monthly e-newsletter notifications of upcoming exhibits, events and special offers as well as invitations to receptions to preview exhibits. To do so, just sign up for the EMUS NEWS newsletter here (button) An annual mailing is sent to Museum members once a year to outline all the programs, exhibits, events and education the Museum has to offer.

Museum membership is a cost-effective way to bring your family and friends to the museum and support the Museum too.
Families Membership of $45 admits 2 adults and up to 4 children for one full year anytime for as many visits as you want! And, you will receive 10% discounts off Escorted Day Trips, 50% discount on downtown Walking Tours, 20% discount on Museum Store merchandise and FREE admission to the Museum for the year.
